Rakes named Chief Operating Officer of Cartersville Medical Center

March 9, 2009 – Lori Rakes, FACHE has been named COO, Chief Operating Officer of Cartersville Medical Center. As COO, Rakes is responsible for the management of laboratory, radiology, anesthesia and respiratory therapy services as well as several non clinical departments. She is involved in the strategic planning and business development for future growth of the hospital.

Rakes comes to Cartersville Medical Center from Montgomery Regional Hospital where she served as Associate Administrator and Ethics & Compliance Officer for the last five years. Prior to that role she served as Quality and Resource Management Director at Montgomery Regional.

“We are honored to have Lori join our Administrative Team, we feel that she brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to our staff along with a commitment to provide the best in patient care and satisfaction”, said Keith Sandlin, CEO of Cartersville Medical Center. “We consider ourselves very fortunate to have found someone with such a high level of experience and education who was willing to relocate to this area”, said Sandlin.

Rakes is a registered nurse, she received her undergraduate degree from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, her master’s in health administration from Pfeiffer University in Misenheimer, North Carolina. She is a registered nurse (RN), a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), a certified facilitator of management and leadership learning systems, a Rotarian and a Paul Harris Fellow. Rakes is married with three children and has recently relocated to the Cartersville area.
